  • 1921 - Production of electric fan, which soon became Mitsubishi Electric's best-selling product in Japan.
  • 1945 - Started production of fans and exhaust fans
  • 1954 - Established air conditioning division, started production of room air conditioners.Introduced Japan’s first wall mounted split type air conditioner.
  • 1956-1961 - Started production of open type condensing units.Development and sales of pressure ventilation fans.
  • 1963-1965 - Developed industry-first semi-hermetic type condensing units.Development and sales of air curtains.
  • 1966-1968 - Started production of chilling unitsIntroduced KIRIGAMINE air conditioners.Introduced Japan’s first ceiling mounted,split-type air conditioner.
  • 1970 - Introduced Lossnay heat-exchange ventilation system.Presented Japan’s quietest (33dB(A)) and lightest (10 kg) air conditioner.
  • 1975 - Introduced industry’s thinnest air conditioner (10.9 cm) and heat pump (17 cm), and energy-efficient inverter drives for Kirigamine air conditioners, received Okochi memorial Commemoration Prize Award for exhaust fan.
  • 1978 Introduced Mr.Slim air conditioners for commercial use.
  • 1983-1984 - Awarded national Commendation for Invention Prize and Minister of International Trade and Industry Prize, for Lossnay.
  • 1970 - Started sales of City Multi series, multiple split type package air conditioners.
  • 1988 - Development and sales of Lossnay ventilation air conditioning system.
  • 1989 - Introduced Free Compo Multi for more flexible product combinations.
  • 1990 - Started sales of City Multi Series R2 simultaneous cooling/heating multiple split-type packaged air conditioners.
  • 1994 - Developed industry-first sensor that detects room occupant movement in order to redirect airflow, installed in Kirigamine air conditioners.
  • Introduced Mr.Slim Multi-S, capable of controlling five separate cassettes at once.
  • 1999 - Introduced Smoke Dash deodorization and dirt-collect machine for smoking.
  • 2000 - Introduction of industry-first multiple-sensor control to measure quality of the air environment, and the introduction of the I Feel Kirigamine.Introduced Kirigamine series with a new mechanism that simplifies cleaning of indoor units.Development and sales of duct exhaust fan with deodorization function.
  • 2017 - The MSZ-LN series of KIRIGAMINE air conditioners is introduced, equipped with sensors for measuring temperature, human presence as well as high energy efficiency and advanced air filtration. The filter manages to eliminate the 6 main air pollutants: viruses, bacteria, mold, dust, PM2.5 particles and allergens as well as 99.8% of COVID-19.
